Messenger

Identified - Aktuell kann es vorkommen, dass beim ersten Login in den neuen Messenger kein Wiederherstellungsschlüssel vergeben werden kann. Wir arbeiten bereits an einem Update, um diesen Fehler dauerhaft zu beheben.

Lösungsschritte (Workaround)
Sollten Sie von diesem Problem betroffen sein, führen Sie bitte nacheinander folgende Schritte aus:

- Schlüssel zurücksetzen: Tippen Sie auf die Schaltfläche „Zurücksetzen“.

- Manueller Logout (falls Schritt 1 nicht hilft): Sollte die App hängen bleiben oder abstürzen, navigieren Sie in die Einstellungen der App und scrollen bis zum Bereich Messenger und wählen Sie „Abmelden“.

- Wechseln Sie dann zum Reiter "Messenger" und melden Sie sich erneut an, Sie müssen dann die Identität zurücksetzen, einen Wiederherstellungsschlüssel setzen und können dann den Messenger verwenden.

Wir warten aktuell jedoch noch auf die finale Überprüfung und Freigabe der neuen iOS-App durch Apple. Sobald die aktuelle Version im App Store zur Verfügung steht, informieren wir Sie umgehend, damit Sie das Update durchführen können. Zeitgleich werden wir das Update der Android-App bereitstellen.

The server-side preparations for the Matrix protocol migration are complete.
However, we are currently waiting for Apple's final review and approval of the new iOS app. As soon as the latest version is available in the App Store, we will inform you immediately so you can proceed with the update. At the same time, we will release the update for the Android app.

Scheduled - Messenger-Migration auf das Matrix-Protokoll (27.04.2026)

Wir stellen den GroupAlarm-Messenger auf das Matrix-Protokoll um. Diese Modernisierung verbessert die Sicherheit und Interoperabilität unserer Kommunikation entscheidend. Die Umstellung erfordert ein Wartungsfenster sowie einen harten Schnitt in der Systemarchitektur.

Wichtige Hinweise zum Datenschutz und zur Migration
Verschlüsselung & Nachrichtenverlauf: Durch die Einführung einer neuen Ende-zu-Ende-Verschlüsselung ist eine Mitnahme der alten Chat-Historie technisch nicht möglich. Bestehende Nachrichten werden daher am Stichtag gelöscht. Organisationen & Räume: Alle bestehenden Räume innerhalb Ihrer Organisationen werden inklusive der Benutzer automatisch von uns neu angelegt. Eine manuelle Neuerstellung der Raumstruktur ist nicht erforderlich.

Handlungsbedarf für Administratoren und Nutzer
Um den Messenger nach der Umstellung weiterhin nutzen zu können, müssen folgende Schritte durchgeführt werden:

App-Update: Installieren Sie am Stichtag die neue Version der GroupAlarm-App. Die bisherigen Messenger-Funktionen werden mit der Umstellung deaktiviert und stehen in der alten App nicht mehr zur Verfügung.
Manuelle Aktualisierung der Flows: Da Messenger-Verknüpfungen in automatisierten Flows nicht automatisiert migriert werden können, ist ein manueller Eingriff nötig: Navigieren Sie nach der Umstellung in Ihre bestehenden Flows. Wählen Sie in den jeweiligen Messenger-Aktionen die neu angelegten Räume aus. Speichern Sie den Flow erneut ab, um die Funktion zu reaktivieren.

Messenger migration to the Matrix protocol (27 April 2026)

We are migrating the GroupAlarm Messenger to the Matrix protocol. This modernisation significantly improves the security and interoperability of our communications. The migration requires a maintenance window and a clean break in the system architecture.

Important information regarding data protection and migration
Encryption & message history: Due to the introduction of new end-to-end encryption, it is technically impossible to carry over the old chat history. Existing messages will therefore be deleted on the cut-off date. Organisations & rooms: We will automatically recreate all existing rooms within your organisations, including the users. Manual recreation of the room structure is not required.

Action required for administrators and users
To continue using the Messenger after the migration, the following steps must be carried out:

App update: Install the new version of the GroupAlarm app on the migration date. The previous Messenger functions will be deactivated upon migration and will no longer be available in the old app.
Manual update of flows: As Messenger links in automated flows cannot be migrated automatically, manual intervention is required: After the migration, navigate to your existing flows. Select the newly created rooms in the respective Messenger actions. Save the flow again to reactivate the function.
